RV Drawer Slide Solutions

Slide selection support for RV storage, galley and equipment drawer applications.

RV Drawer Slide Solutions

RV cabinetry faces a service environment very different from residential or commercial casework. The slide must tolerate road vibration, repeated slam cycles, and the full range of vehicle loading — passengers, gear, water and food — without losing position, without racking, and without the bearings brinelling under shock.

Vibration and load realities

In service, an RV slide is asked to do two opposing things: travel freely when the drawer is opened, and hold position firmly when the vehicle is moving. A positive lock-in / lock-out lever is the standard way to satisfy both conditions. Without it, contents migrate and the slide raceway wears unevenly.

Travel and bracketry

  • Full extension to reach the rear of the drawer box
  • Lock-in / lock-out lever to hold position in service
  • Bracket pattern matched to the OEM cabinet member
  • Slide length equal to drawer box length
  • Side clearance within drawing nominal to prevent racking
  • Finish selected for the cabinet environment

Material and finish

Cold-rolled steel with either zinc-plated finish (for concealed installations and standard interior environments) or black e-coat finish (for visible slides in humid or salt-exposed environments) is the usual specification. The raceway and ball bearing geometry determine the load class the slide will carry; the bracket pattern and finish determine how the slide fits the cabinet.

Send the cabinet envelope, the intended load, and the bracket pattern you need. The engineering team will confirm slide length, lock-in / lock-out configuration and finish.

Project requirements

Confirm the cabinet envelope and the load class. Road vibration and shocks in service require a slide that will hold position under inertial load and a lock that survives repeated slam cycles.

Verify that the bracket pattern fits the OEM cabinet member before specifying slide length.

Installation & sizing notes

Slides must be mounted to a structural cabinet member, not to decorative panels. Hold the side-to-side tolerance within drawing nominal to prevent the drawer from racking under vibration.

Where the slide is concealed, finish selection is set by the cabinet environment (humidity, road salt).
